Un jazz nourri de sonorités latines, de musique contemporaine, de groove
et d’improvisation. Un «jazz fusion» lumineux ou abrasif, sophistiqué ou
spontané, capable de traduire l’effervescence propre au voyage et aux rencontres.
Pit and Company, c’est cela: un quintet en liberté disant le grand
frisson né de l’échappée belle et de l’aventure menée aux quatre vents.
Aux commandes de ce projet enluminé, la fine fleur du jazz latin suisse romand.
Soit Peter Balazs (contrebasse) et Stéphanie Küffer (piano), que
rejoignent Mathieu Schneider (flûte) et Daniel Bagutti (batterie,
percussions), ainsi que le «special guest» Gerry López (saxophone).
Réunis dans un gang épris de jazz «dans tous ses états», de grooves
barrés et de fusions débridées, ces cinq virtuoses présentent au
printemps 2018, L’Emigré: premier album studio signé Pit and Company.
Une invite à vivre et suivre une odyssée sans frontière jouée entre
climats enchanteurs, lyriques ou singuliers.

A jazz fed by Latin sounds, contemporary music, groove and
improvisation. A “fusion jazz”, luminous or abrasive, sophisticated or
spontaneous, able to express the excitement of travels and new encounters.
Pit and Company: it is a quintet freely expressing the thrill of the
great escape and of the adventures in the big wide world.
At the helm of this inspired endeavour is the very best of the
French-speaking part of Switzerland’s jazz and Latin jazz:
Peter Balazs (double bass) and Stéphanie Küffer (piano), joined by
Mathieu Schneider (flute) and Daniel Bagutti (drums, percussion) as well
as the special guest Gerry López (saxophone).
Gathered together in a gang loving jazz in all its shapes and forms,
from barred grooves to unbridled fusions, these five virtuosos present,
in spring 2018, “L’ Emigré”: the first studio album signed Pit and
Company. An invitation to embark on an odyssey without borders spanning
enchanting, lyrical and unique climates.

Jazz, durchmischt mit lateinamerikanischen Klängen, zeitgenössischer
Musik, Groove und Improvisation. Eine leuchtende oder schillernde
« Jazz-Fusion », raffiniert und spontan, die in der Lage ist, die
Erinnerungen an Reisen und Begegnungen zu übersetzen.
„Pit and Company“, das heisst: Ein Quintett in Freiheit, das den
Nervenkitzel der Flucht und des Abenteuers in die vier Himmelsrichtungen ausdrückt.
An der Spitze dieses erleuchteten Projektes steht die feine Spitze des
Jazz und Latin Jazz in der Westschweiz.
Dies sind: Peter Balazs (Kontrabass) und Stéphanie Küffer (Klavier),
gefolgt von Mathieu Schneider (Flöte) und Daniel Bagutti (Schlagzeug,
Percussion) sowie des Special Guests Gerry López (Saxophon).
Vereinigt in einer jazzbegeisterten Gruppe « in all ihren
Schattierungen », geschlossenen Grooves und zügellosen Fusionen,
präsentieren sich die fünf Virtuosen im Frühjahr 2018 im « L’ Emigré »:
erstes Studioalbum mit „Pit and Company“. Eine Einladung, eine Odyssee
ohne Grenzen zu erleben und zu verfolgen, gespielt zwischen
bezaubernden, lyrischen oder singulären Klängen.
